One of the simplest, gentlest and most effective methods of ear wax removal, irrigation is performed by an audiologist using a Pulsed irrigator to deliver just the right amount of water at the right temperature and pressure through an angled probe. It is a more modern method of syringing that is not uncomfortable.

The procedure is very accurate and safe. However, it should not be performed if you have had a middle ear infection in the last six weeks, a perforated eardrum in the last 12 months, mucus in your ear recently or if you’ve ever undergone any form of ear surgery. You will need to use over-the-counter ear drops to soften the wax in your ears for 3-7 days prior to your irrigation/syringing appointment.

If you cannot have irrigation/syringing, we recommend micro suction as a very comfortable and clean alternative. It is suitable for everyone, even if you have recently had an ear infection, and can be completed in as little as five minutes per ear, depending on the amount and type of wax.
