Why Opt for Ear Wax Hooking?

The Benefits of Manual Ear Wax Removal:

  • Manual ear wax removal is very safe, effective and comfortable
  • The procedure takes between 15-30 minutes, depending on the amount and type of ear wax and whether you are having one or both ears treated
  • This type of wax removal is recommended for those with very moist or very dry ear wax, or those with irregularly-shaped ear canals

Manual ear wax removal is a safe, traditional method of cleaning ears. It is particularly useful for people with narrow ear canal entrances or protruding ear canals, which can make it difficult to insert an irrigation or micro suction device at the proper angle.

Manual ear wax removal is also often recommended if the wax in your ears is particularly moist or dry. The process involves removing wax out of your ear using a probe or wax hook and forceps. It is very comfortable, quick and pain-free.

We often recommend micro suction as a very comfortable and clean alternative to manual ear wax removal. It is suitable for everyone, even if you have recently had an ear infection, and can be completed in as little as five minutes per ear, depending on the amount and type of wax.

Testimonials

Great service from start to finish. Rory is great and has helped my hearing amazingly

Phil Gee Goldberg

I would like to say a big thank you to Rory Kewney(Hearing aid Audiologist) at Transform Hearing for restoring my faith in private sector Audiologist’s after having a very unpleasant experience with another private Audiologist & due to this unpleasant experience it took me a year to pluck up the courage to make another appointment with a private sector Audiologist & I’m extremely glad that I did. Rory’s friendly professional approach & vast knowledge put me at ease. I would highly recommend Transform Hearing to anyone struggling with hearing loss.

Micro Suction -
Our Recommended Ear Wax Removal Procedure

Micro suction is the quickest, safest and gentlest method of cleaning and unblocking ears. It is achieved by using an adjustable controlled suction pump to perform a video otoscopic removal, vacuuming any blockages out of your ear. You can see before and after images of your ear, and the audiologist has a very clear view of your ear canal during the procedure, allowing them to be very precise.
